A wiki-style link graph is more useful than a folder of disconnected notes because the value compounds: every new page you write is a chance to strengthen a connection to something old, and old pages quietly accrue “linked from” backlinks pointing at whatever you wrote most recently – see Hello, World for the post that started this one off.

The mechanism doesn’t need to be clever. It just needs to be low-friction enough that you actually use it while writing, instead of after the fact.
